A note from the Principal...


Dear Northwest Families:

Happy New Year!  I hope that everyone was able to enjoy their Winter Break.  I know that I enjoyed the two weeks off with my wife and son.  I hope that your child is refreshed and energized to complete the second half of the 2016-2017 school year.  I know that the staff at Northwest is refreshed and ready to get back into a routine.  I wanted to update everyone on the construction at Northwest and remind everyone about a few things at the school.

Please remember to send your child to school with a hat, coat, and gloves.  We will be sending the students outside everyday as long as we have cooperating weather and temperatures.  Please do not drop off students prior to 8:00 am because we do not have staff on duty until then.  We will not let students into the building until 8:00 am.  Every student will go to the gymnasium at 8:00 am regardless if they are eating breakfast.  

The staff at Northwest wants to ensure the health and safety of each child.  We are in the middle of the cold and flu season.  A child needs to be fever and symptom free for 24 hours before returning to school.  This policy helps to ensure that illnesses will not be spread from student to student.  

We post school information on the school website at:  http://nw27.homestead.com/.  We also post important information to our school’s Facebook page.  We also use an automated phone/text message service called School Messenger to contact parents and guardians.  If your phone number has changed since the beginning of the school year, please contact the office to update your information.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.
